This is a picture of Mr. Peterson and I in Catalina. We enjoy spending a week on the island each summer with our family. We like playing golf, riding bikes and playing in the water while we are there. We have three grown kids, a son and two daughters and blessed with two granddaughters. When we go on vacation to Catalina, our kids bring their family and a friend or two (that's a lot of cooking!). I grew up in a large Italian/Irish family; I have eight brothers, four older, four younger and for a long time, I was the only girl. My parents are amazing, loving human beings (when I was young, I thought they were a little crazy). Along the way, they adopted two foster children for a total of eleven children! It was crazy at times growing up, yet we knew we were loved by our parents and a mighty God. As you can imagine, I am stronger than I look. My brothers taught me how to surf, ride dirt bikes, wrestle and how to stand up for myself. I even raced motocross in high school (this drove my mom crazy!). I have surfed with all three of my children and boogie boarded with my granddaughters. My attitude and perseverance has helped me earn several college degrees. Fun fact: I began college with my son. I was a stay-at-home mom with part-time jobs while our kids were in school. I am abundantly blessed to continue my love for teaching children and humbly serving God. I pray that my passion for learning and wondering reflects in my students.
